Canadian North Releases Short Film “Serving Communities with Care: 2021 Canadian North Toy Drive”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, January 18, 2022 (Ottawa, ON) – Canadian North has launched a short film “Serving Communities with Care: 2021 Canadian North Toy Drive” documenting the 2021 Toy Drive.

On December 14, 2021, Canadian North staff, Kimmirut Hamlet members, with the help of the Kimmirut RCMP, delivered joy in the form of toys to children in the community. The toys were delivered door-to-door from staff wearing personal protective equipment to ensure the safety of the community. Toy distributions within Taloyoak and Clyde River also took place during that week.

“There are communities where our people coach hockey, there’s communities where we teach kids about basically everything. In every community, we have somebody that does something for the kids. It’s inseparable.” Patrick Akpalialuk, Manager, Community Relations and Station, Kuujjuaq, based in Iqaluit.

We would like to invite you to watch the short film documenting the journey from Ottawa, Ontario to Kimmirut, Nunavut:
