Applicability

We understand that there are times when your travel plans are driven by compassionate reasons, and we are here to support you during those times. The Canadian North Compassionate Care Program seeks to reunite loved ones when immediate support and kinship are needed. Canadian North will provide a discretionary reduced travel rate to those who need to:

  • Attend the funeral of a friend or loved one
  • Visit a friend or loved one who has received notification that end-of-life is imminent
  • Visit a friend or loved one who has been hospitalized as a result of a serious illness or injury.

Thank you for respecting the spirit of this program, which is part of our care and commitment to the communities we serve.

This program has the following applicability limitations:

  • Any flight marketed and operated by Canadian North
  • Travel must be completed within 60 days of booking

How to receive a compassionate fare

To request a compassionate fare, please get in touch with our Customer Contact Centre by calling 1-800-267-1247. Our representatives are available to assist you through this process. We kindly request that you provide the following information to help us better understand your situation, including but not limited to:

  • Purpose of travel: Explain the reason for your travel, detailing the circumstances that require you to travel. This information helps us assess your eligibility for a compassionate fare.
  • The name of patient or loved one: Please provide the full name of the patient or loved one for whom you are travelling. Accuracy in this step is important to ensure we process your request correctly.
  • Relationship of the passenger with patient or loved one: Specify your relationship with the patient or loved one. This information helps us comprehend the nature of your compassionate need and offer appropriate assistance.
  • Reservation code (if travel has already occurred): If you have already made travel arrangements and/or have already travelled, please provide the reservation code. This will enable us to locate the booking and make the necessary adjustments if applicable.
