Yellowknife is still buzzing after another unforgettable weekend at Folk on the Rocks, the North’s biggest party under the midnight sun.
Held July 17–19, the 46th annual festival brought the community together for three days of live music, art, food and cultural programming. This year’s lineup featured artists from across the North and Canada, including Aysanabee, Mae Martin, Great Lake Swimmers, and St. Arnaud alongside local and emerging talent. The weekend once again concluded with a memorable performance by the Yellowknives Dene Drummers.
What began in 1980 as a one-day showcase for local performers has grown into one of Canada’s leading summertime music and cultural festivals. Today, Folk on the Rocks offers more than 35 hours of programming across six stages, along with Northern artwork, local and international food, family-friendly activities, and opportunities to connect with community organizations.
Canadian North has proudly supported Folk on the Rocks for decades, as the festival’s celebration of Northern creativity, culture and community closely aligns with our commitment to making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve.
Throughout the weekend, the Canadian North team was on-site connecting with festivalgoers and getting into the Folk on the Rocks spirit. Guests stopped by our Polaroid photo booth to capture memories from the festival and picked up bucket hats, sunglasses, and other Canadian North swag to help them enjoy the weekend in style.
