Canadian North Supports Iqaluit Youth Recreation Through Outcrop Golf Tournament

Canadian North was proud to support the annual Outcrop Golf Tournament, held recently in Gatineau, Quebec, in support of the Ikajuqtiit Community Association (ICA).

Based in Iqaluit, ICA is a community-focused organization dedicated to creating meaningful opportunities for residents through local initiatives, programs, and events. Through its work, the organization helps strengthen community connections and supports projects that enhance quality of life for children, youth, and families in Nunavut.

This year’s tournament raised funds for an important community project: much-needed groundwork improvements at the Iqaluit Ball Field, home to the Iqaluit Minor Softball Association. These upgrades will improve playing conditions and create a safer, more accessible space for young athletes to learn, play, and compete.

In addition to our sponsorship and participation in the event, Canadian North contributed $25,000 to support ICA’s community initiatives and the continued development of youth recreation opportunities in Iqaluit. Canadian North also donated two round-trip tickets for the event’s gala auction, helping raise additional funds for community projects that will benefit residents.

With 100% of tournament proceeds directed to ICA, the event ensured that every dollar raised will be reinvested into initiatives that support the Iqaluit community.

Canadian North is proud to support initiatives that strengthen communities across the North and improve quality of life for the people we serve. We look forward to following the progress of the Iqaluit Ball Field improvements and seeing the lasting impact these investments will have on youth recreation, organized sport, and community well-being in Iqaluit.
