Cheers to 40 years of arts and culture support in the NWT

Congratulations to the Northern Arts & Cultural Centre (NACC), celebrating their 40th anniversary on December 7th.

This milestone event marks NACC’s significant contributions to the Northwest Territories through arts, culture and community engagement. A non-profit charitable organization, NACC is the only fully equipped live performance theatre in the NWT.

NACC has been a venue and a support, offering theatre, music, dance and educational workshops, artist training and programs for youth and community members. Their focus is on growing the local performing arts and nurturing talent by commissioning, creating, producing and showcasing original works from the North and beyond.

The NACC presents over 100 events each year, welcoming close to 20,000 patrons across the NWT. The programming is chosen to educate and entertain every segment of their diverse population. As such, the NACC plays a central role in the cultural life of community members in the area.

Canadian North has been a proud sponsor of NACC for years, helping them bring artists, performers and their equipment to Yellowknife, Inuvik, Norman Wells, Fort Simpson, Hay River and Fort Smith.  By helping reduce operational costs, our support enables NACC to focus on expanding their programming and reaching new audiences.

On this 40-year milestone, we salute the achievements of NWT artists, volunteers, employees, patrons, partners and funders.
