Captain Speer has been a member of the Canadian North Flight Operations team since 2004 (then First Air) in a series of progressive roles, operating both jet and turbo prop aircraft, and providing leadership as a Training Captain, Check Captain and Chief Pilot. Aaron assumed the Transport Canada responsibilities as First Air’s designated Operations Managers (OM) upon his promotion to Director, Flight Operations in 2015 and has retained this key function since his promotion to Vice President in 2016 and through the merger with Canadian North. A graduate with distinction with a Bachelor of Engineering (Aerospace with a specialization in Aerodynamics), Aaron brings a unique combination of technical and line experience in the combined disciplines of Aircraft Maintenance and Flight Operations, having also served as the Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM) with a previous employer. Aaron holds a board seat as the 1st Vice President for the Northern Air Transport Association, and additionally has served over two decades with the military reserves. Aaron is a highly respected pilot with a commitment to safe and efficient operations.
