Everywhere across Iqaluit, businesses and people are digging out after a massive blizzard blanketed the region with more than a foot of snow over only two days.
Canadian North’s operations and team members are facing the same challenges. We are working around the clock to resolve the backlog of freight that has accumulated due to the storm which primarily impacted our northbound operations from our Iqaluit hub.
To clear this backlog as quickly as possible, we are temporarily accepting only critical shipments, such as medical supplies, at our Ottawa cargo facility bound for Iqaluit and the other Baffin communities.
We are working hard to quickly reduce this backlog and will return to transporting normal cargo shipments as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding, and we will post any additional updates or changes here.
