Canadian North to Make Donation to the Arctic Child and Youth Foundation, Iqaluit, NU

19 juin 2023

June 19, 2023 – Iqaluit, NU – As a 100% Inuit-owned airline, Canadian North is committed to supporting Inuit and Indigenous economic self-reliance and growth. This week, Canadian North, with the help of our generous corporate clients, will be donating to the Arctic Children and Youth Foundation in Iqaluit, Nunavut.

Since 2012, the Arctic Children and Youth Foundation has been a safe place for Inuit youth to reach out, talk about issues affecting them and learn healthy coping skills. As a Canadian charity based in Iqaluit, they serve all of Nunavut and are working to ensure all youth in the Territory enjoy the same standard of living as the rest of the country, with access to comparable education, health and well-being resources.

This past December, Canadian North raised funds for the Arctic Children and Youth Foundation through their annual Charity Christmas program. Canadian North’s corporate clients were invited to make a set minimum donation. In exchange, Canadian North provided donors with an airline ticket certificate which could be used as a Christmas Party draw or raffle to fundraise for a local charity.

“The Arctic Children and Youth Foundation does a lot of good in our communities and we are pleased to work with our corporate customers to share our gifts with them.” Cindy Twerdin, Associate Vice President, Government and Community Relations. “By supporting such an important organization which cares deeply about our children and youth, we are strengthening the future of Nunavut”
