Mr. Plamondon was named Vice President, Cargo, Airport Operations & Facilities in May 2022. He previously held the title of Vice President Charters and Business when he joined Canadian North in January 2021. Mat was also the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for a global aerospace company, FLYHT Aerospace Solutions Ltd., based in Calgary. As COO he led an international operations team while working closely with the sales team to support the organization’s business development initiatives. Mat has a strong background and knowledge of the airline industry starting his career as an aircraft maintenance apprentice followed by acquiring his pilot license and dispatcher certificate. He also led several operational teams as the Director Operational Control Center for First Air, Manager Operations Center at Navtech Systems a flight planning, aircraft performance and crew solutions provider and Base Manager for a regional 704 operator. Mat is dedicated to continuous learning and has acquired an MMBA from McGill University and has recently completed an MBA with York St. Johns University focusing on Leadership and Management.
