Leaving from the community of Pangnirtung, the tour’s first journey is by motorboat to Overlord Peak, and from here begins the 70 km hiking adventure exploring Akshayuk Pass. The 14-day trip is highlighted by 11 days of hiking that loops through Auyuittuq National Park in the Eastern Arctic region in Canada. As participants attempt the ambitious goal of reaching the top of the pass at Summit Lake, they will be immersed in some of the most beautiful alpine scenery on earth. The highly-qualified Black Feather guides will not only coach hiking techniques, but also provide interpretation of the geology, flora and fauna encountered.

Explore the floe edge by boat, in the spectacular Northern environment of Foxe Basin that is brimming with electric blue pack-ice formations and magnificent wildlife. In this tour you will get to experience the Arctic Ocean like never seen before. Starting in Tuktoyaktuk, you will board your boat with your local guide and venture out on the Arctic Ocean for a one hour boat tour to our traditional whaling camp. Once arriving at our whale camp you will learn about the history and culture of this region from your local guide, try locally harvested food, play traditional games, and immerse yourself in the life on the Arctic Ocean. Once spending about 2.5 hours here you will return by boat back to Tuktoyaktuk.
